My work refers to the ocean and movement seen and felt in nature, but it also suggests ideas about domestic decoration. Our contemporary taste is mediated by commercialism. It can delight us; like snack food, we always want more.

The works have an abstract, underwater, coral theme with bright plastic colors. Some of the materials used are painted insulation foam and powdered wood putty. Various objects and materials are combined with an emphasis on texture. Some are found around the house and others are from craft and hardware stores as well as the 99¢ Store in Venice, California.

Technology, (epitomized by the plastic objects surrounding us), overlaps and combines with nature. It continues to help us, attract us and confuse us. Sometimes it can even hurt us without our knowledge.
